You've probably tried to push through. Maybe you've even tried therapy before and left feeling like you just paid someone to listen while nothing actually changed.

That's not healing. That's surviving.

Trauma rewires how your brain and body respond to the world. It shows up as hypervigilance, emotional numbness, sleep problems, relationships that feel impossible, and a constant sense that something is just off — even when you can't explain why.

At Untangled Mind, I don't do passive listening. I use structured, evidence-based treatment that targets what's actually happening in your nervous system, so you stop managing symptoms and start experiencing real, measurable change.

Our Approach

At Untangled Mind℠, we use a personalized, data-driven approach combining:

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) — to identify and reframe harmful thoughts and beliefs

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) — to reprocess traumatic memories safely

  • Neuropsychotherapy / Nervous System Regulation — to calm your body, manage triggers, and integrate emotional healing

We tailor each treatment plan to your history, your symptoms, and your pace of readiness. You decide what feels safe.

Common Signs You Might Benefit From Trauma Therapy

  • Re-experiencing painful memories, nightmares, or flashbacks

  • Intense reactions (anger, fear, panic) to reminders or triggers

  • Becoming emotionally numb, dissociated, or withdrawing socially

  • Difficulty concentrating, intrusive thoughts, or constant worry

  • Physical symptoms: insomnia, tension, fatigue, etc.

If these sound familiar, you are not alone. Healing is possible.

What to Expect in Trauma Therapy at Untangled Mind

  • Practical tools for grounding, managing anxiety, and tracking progress over time

Why Choose Untangled Mind in East Cobb

Most therapists will sit with you week after week and call it progress. I won't.

Here's what you actually get:

✔ 15+ targeted assessments in your first session — so we know exactly what we're working with, not guessing
✔ A written treatment plan with clear goals and timelines — you'll always know where we're headed
✔ Monthly reassessments — real data showing real progress, not just feelings
✔ Custom Untangling Pathway™ workbooks — structured tools you use between sessions
✔ Low caseload — you get focused, high-touch care, not a revolving door

Most clients experience measurable relief within 8–12 sessions. That's not a promise — it's a pattern backed by data.

FAQ

Get to Know Us

How long does trauma therapy take?

Most clients at Untangled Mind experience measurable relief within 8–12 sessions for moderate trauma. Complex or long-term trauma may take longer. Every treatment plan includes monthly reassessments so you always know where you stand.

Do you accept insurance for trauma therapy in Marietta?

Limited insurance spots are available through Headway. Private pay sessions are $175–$185 and include the full Untangled Mind Pathway™ — assessments, written treatment plan, workbooks, and between-session support.

What is the difference between CBT and EMDR for trauma?

CBT works to identify and reframe the thought patterns trauma creates. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess stuck traumatic memories without requiring you to retell them in detail. At Untangled Mind, both are used together as part of an integrated treatment plan.

Do you offer online trauma therapy in Georgia?

Yes. Telehealth sessions are available to adults anywhere in Georgia. In-person sessions are offered at our Marietta office at 1501 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 104.
