Meet Piper Harris, LPC,
Your Trauma-Informed Partner In Healing
You’ve probably tried therapy before and walked away feeling like nothing really changed.
That’s not what happens here.
At Untangled Mind™, I bring straight talk, structured tools, and real compassion to trauma and anxiety. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor certified in Neuropsychotherapy, trained in EMDR, and deeply grounded in trauma-focused CBT. I’m not a generalist; I specialize here, so you get depth instead of surface-level support.
I’m known as the therapist who won’t just nod along. I’ll help you build a clear plan, work the plan, and finally see measurable change: mentally, emotionally, and physically.

About Untangled Mind™
Untangled Mind provides structured, integrative counseling for adults navigating anxiety, trauma, hypervigilance, burnout, and the unique stresses of first responders and law enforcement families.
This practice was built for people who are tired of open-ended conversation and want clarity, direction, and real results.

Our work is grounded in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and shaped by careful assessment, intentional treatment planning, and respect for the complexity of the human experience

The full Untangled Mind Pathway™
At Untangled Mind™, we believe counseling should be intentional, structured, and grounded in responsibility. Insight alone is not enough. Understanding must lead to action, and compassion must be paired with clarity.

We approach therapy as a collaborative, skill-based process rooted in evidence-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and guided by assessment, clinical judgment, and respect for the individual. We do not rush change, but we also do not drift without direction. Treatment is designed to be purposeful, measurable, and responsive to each client’s goals and capacity.

Anxiety and trauma are not only emotional experiences. They involve patterns of thought, physiology, behavior, and meaning. Effective care addresses all of these layers without reducing a person to a diagnosis or an endless narrative. Our philosophy honors depth without indulgence and structure without rigidity.
Our Mission
Untangled Mind™ delivers integrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults navigating anxiety and trauma through a structured, intentional approach. We combine comprehensive assessment, skill-based intervention, and individualized treatment planning to support clarity, resilience, and forward movement.

Each service is designed to remain coherent, clinically grounded, and aligned with meaningful progress rather than an open-ended process.
Our Vision
Untangled Mind™ exists to offer a thoughtful alternative to modern counseling trends by providing care that is deliberate, grounded, and clinically meaningful. We envision a model of counseling where depth is protected, clarity is prioritized, and therapeutic work is structured to support real change.

Our vision is a practice where counseling honors both the complexity of the human experience and the responsibility inherent in effective treatment.
Untangled Mind Pathway™
At Untangled Mind, I practice as an Integrated CBT Clinician. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) forms the backbone of my work; it’s one of the most researched and effective approaches for trauma, anxiety, and stress-related conditions. But healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why I integrate complementary methods from neuroscience, trauma research, and somatic regulation, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs.
The Untangled Mind Pathway™ is the framework that brings this integration to life. It is a structured, evidence-based therapeutic approach that sets you on a clear path toward healing and resilience. Beginning with safe and supportive connections, the pathway ensures foundational needs are met before progressing to advanced regulation and attachment strategies. These steps foster emotional stability and provide a strong base for deeper growth. (This is a fancy clinical way of saying that I work deliberately and focus care not just on your feelings, but on your body’s safety responses, your brain’s ability to integrate tools, and more.)

Using cognitive-behavioral techniques alongside bottom-up practices like interoceptive awareness and titrated trauma processing, the UM Pathway™ delivers actionable tools that enable transformation. Each step is guided by regular assessment, so progress is measurable, and treatment adapts as you grow.

This innovative system differentiates Untangled Mind by blending compassionate care with data-driven results. The result is a comprehensive, step-by-step roadmap that helps clients move beyond distress and toward self-actualization, resilience, and fulfillment.

Meet Piper Harris

Hi, I’m Piper Harris, LPC.

From the time I was four years old, I knew I wanted to be a counselor. That calling has stayed with me my entire life. I’ve walked through my own seasons of anxiety and trauma, and I understand how heavy life can feel, even when you’re doing everything “right.”

After a hiatus that began in 2003, I found my way back to this work through a winding path that included owning a fitness studio and working as a private chef. Those experiences, along with being married for over 20 years to a law enforcement officer (now retired) and raising two teenage sons, taught me a lot about resilience, real-life stress, and what people actually need to heal.

I created Untangled Mind because I believe therapy should be more than just talking in circles. I’m direct, practical, and deeply committed to helping people experience real, measurable change. When I’m not in session, you’ll find me lifting weights, writing, spending time with my family, practicing my Catholic Christian faith, or working on the Untangled Mind Pathway™.
